The Journey Space Rental Contract
At The Journey Space, it is our mission to create the most peaceful, clear, and conducive environment for learning, movement and gathering together. We strive to create a home for all those who wish to "journey inward," back to the seat of their soul. It is in this journey that we all find our place in the universe, that which makes us special.

The Journey Space is available for hourly, daily or long term rental. Our amenities include:
First floor studio aka “The Journey Space:”
Entrance room for shoes, hooks for coats
Beautiful studio space with hardwood floors, 600 sq feet that fits approximately 20 yoga mats "New York" style or 35 seated attendees
Four 6ft tables, 20 chairs, 15 bolsters and 15 backjacks.
Use of all yoga props: blankets, mats, bolsters, and foam/cork blocks are included
A state of the art audio - visual system with standard HDMI (please bring an adapter if needed) for all Mac and Android (instruction manual provided)
Wifi access (and the ability to turn WiFi off)
Kitchenette including microwave, toaster oven, full size fridge and freezer, and electric tea kettle (and filtered water and tea!)
One accessible bathroom
Trash, recycling and composting available
Second floor apartment aka “The Hidden Gem:”
Master bedroom with a king bed, guest room with a queen bed and a third floor loft with a full bed
Full kitchen, fully stocked with pots and pans, cutlery, utensils and much more
Dining area with 4 chairs
Living room area with breakfast table and 2 chairs
Full bathroom with standing shower
Washer and dryer
Wifi access
52 inch smart TV
Trash, recycling and composting available
Ground floor treatment space aka “Heartwaves”
Spacious entrance way
Small kitchenette with toaster oven, microwave and mini fridge
Seating space in waiting area with 5 comfy chairs
Two rooms decorated and with available massage tables

10 Yoga mats, blankets, chairs and backjacks in closet

Rental of the 1st floor studio
Ideal for parties of 5 - 35 people, the 1st floor studio (aka the Journey Space) is available for rental at the following rates:
Weekday rental: $30/hour
Weekend rental: $35/hour
Half weekday rental: $150/session
Halfday weekend rental: $200/session
Daily weekday rentals: $250/day
Daily weekend rentals: $350/day
Terms of rental for first floor only
Space is rented out in 15-minute blocks with a 90 minute minimum. Reservations must allocate and rent 15 minutes before and after their rental for setup and clean up. Example: A 60-minute class from 9am - 10am must rent 8:45am - 10:15am. For multiple day rentals, there is a $250 refundable security deposit required for first time renters.

Rental of the ground floor
The space is available for room rental only.
Single room rental: $20/hr, with a 90 minute minimum
Daily single room rental: $80/day
Long term rentals to be discussed on an individual basis
Proof of insurance is required when renting. Please provide your insurance or obtain some prior to rental (none needed for the apartment if renting through Airbnb). Many policies can be purchased by the year. Expect to pay between $100 to $200 a year.
Booking: All classes confirmed a month in advance can be marketed and promoted via our social media, if requested.
Cancellation Policy: Both parties can cancel with an agreement with a 14 day notice. A cancellation fee of 50% will be applied to cancellations past the cancellation date.
Payment: Payment must be made on or before the day of the event. We prefer payment by check. Please place the check in to the Journey Space suggestion box, checks must be made payable to The Journey Space LLC and include the name, date, hours of use and # of attendees in the memo line. If you can not pay by check, pay via Zelle using the name The Journey Space and phone number 301-613-6830
Terms of Use
All rooms must be left in good condition, as follows:
Wet/Dry Mop clean or wet mop when food is present.
All items picked up and left as you found it.
All trash bagged and put in proper receptacles.
No outside shoes allowed into studio space.
Turn down heat/AC, close windows before leaving.
Turn off heat/AC before opening windows.
No cigarettes, alcohol (only on a case by case basis) or pets allowed anywhere on the property.
No use of glitter of any kind or any staining materials.
No candles
If you plan to use sage etc, we prefer that you burn it outside on the pavement. Only pure essential oils may be used indoors, please do not use perfumes or other chemical/synthetic fragrances.

Our driveway holds two lanes of three cars, so six total. We have an electric plug available for electric cars. Since parking is limited, please park as close to the next car as your group arrives. Do not park directly in the Irish Inn lot. There is free street parking on Oberlin Avenue.
If you are going to drum or have other instruments, please keep the windows closed and the volume low. There are tenants below and tenants above as well. No loud music.
No liquids in the studio other than personal, closable water bottles or tea cups.
Occupants will be charged for the cost of any repairs to the building related to damages caused by the occupant.
Limits of Liability: The Responsible Party (hereinafter referred to as Occupant) agrees not to hold Owners (The Journey Space LLC.) responsible for any injury to any participant during the rental period. For continuing use the Occupant must provide the Owners with a copy of the Occupant’s professional certification and professional liability insurance, as applicable.
Terms of Rental and Advertising
We consider you primarily responsible for promoting and advertising your classes. You can leave one printed flier for your event on the entrance community table if it is professional looking, and we cannot guarantee space will be available on the table.
