Wim Hof with Denis Crean

Water has been a constant presence in Denis Crean’s life. From attending early morning swim practices during childhood in Los Angeles, as a swim parent at Mohican pool, and as a coach and founder of WaveOne Open Water, the top mid-Atlantic resource for open water swimming, where he created a vast community and facilitated over 20,000 water experiences. It is a natural progression that Denis has now turned to cold water and breathing as the next step to share his deep understanding of the healing and harmonizing effects of water.

Denis completed the rigorous process of becoming a certified Wim Hof instructor in Barcelona, Spain where he trained with instructors from all over the world to learn and teach the very best practices in guided breathing and cold water experience.

The Wim Hof guided breathing and cold water plunge experience is like no other because it is guided by science. The process seeks to increase the amount of oxygen absorbed in the body, while also decreasing the absorption of carbon dioxide to evoke a controlled stress response. With regular breathwork practice and exposure to cold water, we can influence the autonomic nervous system and experience tremendous physical and mental improvements for better health and vitality.

Wim Hof Fundamentals courses will be offered on June 10 and July 15. Denis expertly guides participants through a series of breathing exercises to create a deep inner calmness and tranquility. The community bonds together to create an energetic experience like no other. A series of cold water plunges are available (not required) to take the mind and body to an even deep level of consciousness.

Breathing Biotics classes will be held each Wednesday at 7 p.m. This class is designed to take away the day-to-day stresses of daily life to bring calm, focus and increased energy. Each session practices guided deep breathing techniques to discover how to control the nervous system response through breathing, reduce stress levels, create better metabolic functionality and have enhanced immune response.
